The club in a statement signed by Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Linda Ansong, the club has not been sold entirely but the license has been sold to new owners

Dansoman-based Liberty Professional have resolved to sell the club’s Division One League license to new owners and revert to compete in the Regional Division Two League, footballmadeinghana.com.gh can confirm.

The club in a statement signed by Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Linda Ansong, the club has not been sold entirely but the license has been sold to new owners.

Earlier reports were that the club has been completely sold but the statement from the CEO of the side puts the matter to rest.

The statement added that the once upon a time Scientific Soccer Lads will want to redefine their true identity and revert to concentrate on the redefinition of the club into the academy system.

The ‘new direction’ of the club, as communicated by their CEO will see them invest heavily into the development of infrastructure, talent identification and nurturing and technical development of their staff.

Liberty Professionals will, therefore, compete in the Greater Accra Division Two League, while the new owners compete in the Division One league with a new name.

Insiders have disclosed to footballmadeinghana.com.gh that the new owners of the club are led by Member of Parliament for Hohoe constituency, Peter Amewu.

It is understood that Peter Amewu’s club with the name Hohoe United will be the new side to compete on the ticket of Liberty Professionals in the Division One League.

Liberty Professionals are known for their discovery and nurturing of top talents in Ghana for the international market and their redefinition agenda therefore seem the right step to take.

Top Ghanaian stars including Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Habib Mohammed, Aziz Tetteh, Daniel Adjei and many others came through their ranks.
