AFCON 2023 QUALIFIER: Patrick Kpozo handed Ghana start in first cap against Madagascar
Kpozo steps in for Gideon Mensah and Baba rahman who are all injured

FC Sheriff Tiraspol defender Patrick Kpozo has been handed his firs Ghana start in his first cap in their clash with Madagascar on Sunday in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
Kpozo who has been part of the team since March this year has been handed the chance to start against the Barea of Madagascar following the absence of both Baba Rahman and Gideon Mensah.
Coach Chris Hughton was dealt a huge blow after his first choice left back Baba Rahman got injured at the beginning of the year while Gideon Mensah also picked an injury ahead of the game with Madagascar.
Gideon who was handed an invitation for the game reported to camp but had to be excused due to an injury he is nursing.
Kpozo has, therefore, been handed the platform to play against Barea in a game that Ghana needs a win to secure qualification to the 2023 AFCON with a game to spare.
Kpozo is having a good time in his career making 24 appearances in all competitions for Moldova side Sheriff Tiraspol this season.
The former Inter Allies left back is expected to impress Coach Chris Hughton and throw a huge challenge for Baba Rahman and Gideon Mensah for the left back position.
Ghana are already leaders of the group with 8 points from 4 games with two games to go with Angola keeping it close on same points.
