VIDEO: Ibrahim Tanko reacts to 10-man Ghana’s hold1-1 draw with Egypt in pre-AFCON friendly

Black Meteros trainer Anyars Ibrahim Tanko has reacted to his side’s 1-1 stalemate with their Egyptian counterparts in a pre-tournament friendly played in Alexandria, Egypt, on Thursday.

Ghana’s first half opener was cancelled by Egypt before the break end the game in a pulsating 1-1 draw.

Ghana got the game off to a strong start, showing off their offensive prowess right away.

Their efforts were rewarded in the ninth minute as Issahaku showed off his recovery abilities at the edge of the box by slipping past three Egyptian players before being taken down in the penalty area.

Afriyie Barnieh took the penalty shot with assurance and skill, giving Ghana a much-deserving lead.

Ten minutes later, Egypt was given a penalty of their own, giving them a chance to tie the game.

However, Ghana’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad, stood tall and made an outstanding save, knocking the ball aside and maintaining his team’s advantage.

After making a mistake that was prevented by David Oppong’s block in the 34th minute, Danlad made another error when his pass went straight to a rival, who promptly launched a counterattack with a series of accurate passes.

The Ghanaian defense found it difficult to recover, and Egypt’s outstanding teamwork led to the equalizing goal.

A 1-1 draw was the final score, which demonstrated how fiercely competitive both teams were.
