FC Basel defender Kassim Adams been recalled into Ghana’s senior national team as a replacement for injured Alexander Djiku, the Ghana FA has announced.
Coach Chris Hughton will turn to Adams to fill in for Djiku, the France-based player who is presently recovering from an ankle injury and won’t be able to play in the game.
Adams, 27, had a standout season while on loan at FC Basel in Switzerland and possesses a wealth of experience thanks to his 11 prior outings for the Black Stars.
Adams is the second participant to receive a last-minute invitation to fill in for an injured participant after Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer received one in place of Iaki Williams, who is out with a knee injury.
On Monday, June 12, the Black Stars will begin their training camp in Accra as they get ready for this important match. Before leaving for Antananarivo, where the qualification is set to take place on Sunday, July 18, 2023, they will have plenty of time to hone their tactics and methods.
Ghana must win their match against Madagascar in order to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast. Ghana needs at least a draw or a victory to do so.
The group’s attention will be on fulfilling its objective and winning a spot in the renowned continental championship.
