Hearts and Kotoko are ordinary now – Fianoo pounces on pacesetters

Despite being the two top sides in the country, the former AshGold CEO has described them as "ordinary teams" considering their recent performances

Chairman for the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has pounced on hEARTS OF Oak and Asante Kotoko for dislocating their identities, insisting they are ordinary sides now.

Despite being the two top sides in the country, the former AshGold CEO has described them as “ordinary teams” considering their recent performances.

To him, the two sides should be the torchbearers of the league and set the pace for others to follow but have recently turned a pale shadow of themselves.

Hearts of Oak failed to defend their title last season after a remarkable performance to win the title in 2021, finishing 6th on the table while Asante Kotoko have failed to defend the league title they won last season.

Asante Kotoko are struggling to make it into the top 4 of the league while Hearts of Oak are currently 11th on the league table with 45 points.

Fianoo believes the two sides have failed to perform and are unable to pull the numbers to their game.

“If they are doing well they will pull people to watch matches but they are ordinary that is we have rendered them ordinary.

“So the excitement is not there if you go to Spain it is about Barcelona and Real Madrid,” Fianoo told Happy FM.

“You come to Germany it is about Bayern Munich Dortmund, in UK it is about Manchester United, Liverpool those traditional clubs. That is why I am so excited that Bofoakwa is back,”

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to escape relegation after the final round of games in the Ghana Premier League considering their current position – 11th – on the log.
