Berry Ladies owner Gifty Oware-Mensah presents Ampem Darkoa players cash for winning league title
Owner of Women’s Premier League side Berry Ladies, Dr. Gifty Oware-Mensah has awarded the players of Ampem Darkoa Ladies with GHC 10,000 for defending their league title.
Apem Darkoa defeated Hasaacas Ladies 5-3 in a pulsating final game at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday, May 12 2023.
Gifty Oware-Mensah who was in attendance after the game handed over the cash to the team for their hard fought victory.
The first half ended goalles as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.
Hasaacas Ladies came back from the break looking to break the deadlock.
Doris Boaduwaa broke the deadlock of the game afgrr latching onto a great delivery from a corner kick on the hour mark.
Ampem Darkoa after going down huffed and puffed and got the equaliser with seven minutes to full-time, Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah took advantage of a mistake from Hasaacas Ladies captain Linda Eshun and fired past goalkeeper Grace Banwa to equalize, thereby sending the game into extra time.
No team find the back of the net in the extra time resulting in a penalty shootout.
Serwaa Amponsah scored the winning penalty for Ampem Darkoa, after Success Ameyaa missed Hasaacas Ladies’ third kick.
