GFA President promises to build State-of-the-Art Gym in Prampram for Black Stars

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has pledged to build a modern gym in Prampram that will match international standards for the Black Stars to train in.

The announcement was made by Sheikh Tophic Abdul-Kadir Sienu, a member of the GFA Communication team, during a recent appearance on Takoradi-based Beach FM’s Beach Sports Tonight show.

When quizzed about the state of the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence, he assured that, “If the [GFA] President is to be around the FA until such a time that the needed resources that he is looking for, he is able to get, the Prampram we will see will match international standards. He has said that he will build a modern gym in prampram that the Black Stars can train in.”

The Technical centre currently has 4 dormitories, one administrative block, one big dining hall, four football pitches – with one AstroTurf, Beach Soccer pitch and one dressing room.

The 62 acre land facility which was first acquired in 2002 by former Youth and Sports Minister Enoch Teye Mensah and former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Ben Koufie (Late), houses the junior national teams as well as Technical and administrative programmes of the Ghana Football Association.
