MALTA GUINNESS WPL: Ampem Darkoa Ladies tharsh AshTown Ladies to defend their title
Two first half goals and three in the second were all they needed to stamp their authority on their unimpressive opponents.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Monday confirmed their supremacy in the Northern Zone of the Women’s Premier League with a 5-0 mauling of AshTown Ladies in the ultimate game of the season.
Two first half goals and three in the second were all they needed to stamp their authority on their unimpressive opponents.
The defending champions announced their readiness to thrash the visitors at the Nana Ampem Darko Park with an 8th minute opener through Mary Amponsah.
Despite their early breakthrough, the visitors proved a hard nut to crack in the first half but Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah doubled the lead on the 32nd minute before the game went on recess.
The defence of the visitors was rendered impotent with Maybel Amoyaw increasing the tally with a beautiful strike ten minutes after the break.
Ophelia Amponsah grabbed her second and Ampem Darkoa’s 4th with fifteen minutes to end the game.
Still craving for goals, the home side hit the back of the net again on the stroke of 90 minutes through Comfort Yeboah.
The massive win means Ampem Darkoa will defend their title as winners of the Northern Zone of the Women’s Premier League.
Ampem Darkoa will therefore lock horns with Hasaacas Ladies who emerged leaders of the Southern Zone on a date to be decided by the FA’s Competitions Department.
