Ghana U23 team, Ibrahim Tanko leaped to the defense of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh after he wasted several chances in the game against the Algeria U23 team on Tuesday.
The FC Zurich attacker was booed by Ghana fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday, as fans were unhappy with his performance as Ghana defeated Algeria on the day.
Despite his wastefulness on the day, Coach Ibrahim Tanko revealed the player struggled due to lack of playing time at his club.
“I think Barnieh did well though. He spoiled a lot of chances but his general play was good. You can’t just use one game to kill a player, he just moved to Europe. I’m sure he will settle well at his club before the tournament,” Ibrahim Tanko shared.
