Benab extended their lead at the top of the Zone five table to nine points by earning their ninth consecutive league victory with a 1-0 win over Star Wonders.
A first half header from youngster Prince Balladom gave Benab a hard-fought victory against their neighbours.
Benab started very well and nearly took the lead through Fredrick Akatuk, but his shot was saved by the host goalkeeper.
The host were awarded a penalty a few minutes after kick-off, but their attacker saw his effort saved went wide.
Benab FC, after pushing for the opener, finally got the opener on the 40th minute, Prince Balladom out jumped the host defenders to head home a cross from the right flank..
Back from the break, it Star Wonders, who nearly got the equaliser, but his effort was parried by Sherrif.
Both sides failed to create any goalscoring opportunity as Benab maintained their lead until the blast of the final whistle.
The win was Benab’s ninth win on the trot as they edge closer to middle League qualification.
