Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Mukwala has been called up to the Uganda squad by head coach Milutin Sredojeviv for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 24 year old forward was named in the provisional 30-man squad for the double header against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

He makes a return to the cranes setup following his sensational performance in the ongoing Betpawa Ghana Premier league.

Mukwala was outstanding in the first round of the campaign, scoring 8 goals, providing 5 assists and bagging 4 Nasco MOTM awards in 17 games.

The striker also scored 2 goals in the MTN FA Cup taking his tally to a total of 10 goals and 5 assists.

He last played for the cranes over a year ago in a friendly defeat to Iraq.

Uganda are scheduled to face Tanzania at the St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende on the 24th March and the return league at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam.
