Joseph Painstil has been included in Ghana’s latest squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.
The Genk winger makes a return to the national team fold after he was surprisingly omitted from the team that represented the country at the 2022 World Cup.
The 24 year old was initially selected in Ghana’s provisional 55-man squad for Qatar but ultimately failed to make the cut when the list was pruned down to twenty six.
Painstil has however earned back his spot with the arrival of new Ghana coach Chris Hughton following his consistent performances in the Belgian Jupiler League this season.
Ghana will play Angola in a double header this month in search of a ticket to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Cote D’Ivoire in January next year.
The Black Stars will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023 for the reverse fixture.
