Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah attributes their inconsistency to injuries

Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, says injuries are the cause of the team’s inconsistency in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have won seven games and drawn seven with four defeats and are currently on the third spot on the table with 28 points after 18 matches.

Kotoko is currently seven points behind first place Aduana Stars with 16 games to go.

In an interview with Oyerepa FM, the CEO attributed the team’s inconsistent performance to injuries.

“Many times, we do not consider other factors before criticizing. We have failed to consistently produce the same team, hence playing a lot of players mid shift, leaving the coach to always improvise.”

“Anytime we have a good result with the hope of keeping the consistency, we record injuries or suspensions.”

“Sometimes I pity the coaches. We need to improve as a team, but I pity the coaches because sometimes getting a 20-man squad is a problem.”

Asante Kotoko will face Aduana Stars in the round 16 of the Ghana Premier League.
