2023 MTN FA Cup: Defending champions Hearts of Oak bundled out by Dreams FC

The defending champions were pipped by their fellow Premier League campaigners at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s MTN FA Cup will be cruising to supersonic end without defending champions Accra Hearts of Oak after failing to make it past Dreams FC.

The defending champions were pipped by their fellow Premier League campaigners at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It was a Round of 16 clash between the two sides but it was the still believe lads who came up tops after a gruelling 90 minutes of action.

Dreams FC took the lead after just nine minutes when striker Agyenim Boateng found the back of the net.

After going down, Hearts of Oak stepped up their game in a bid to restore parity before the break.

Unfortunately, the efforts of the team were not enough. After recess, the Phobians continued to push and could have won the game.

Disappointingly, Hearts of Oak wasted two penalty kicks and ended up suffering a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC.
