Joseph Paintsil stars in Genk’s 5-goal thriller victory

Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil produced a stunning performance in Genk’s 3-2 victory over KV Westerlo in the Belgian Premier League Matchweek 21 encounter on Tuesday night.

Paintsil was at the heart of everything good for Genk on the night as he produced two assists and scored in the frantic encounter.

Seven minutes into the game, Paintsil carved out the opener setting up Mohammed Aziz to score the opening goal of the game.

Seventeen minutes after creating the opener, the Ghanaian international doubled Genk’s advantage with a strike of his own.

Genk, however, let their healthy lead slip at the start of the second half as quick-fire Goals from Maxim De Cuyper and Thomas Van Den Keybus in the 53rd and 55th minutes respectively restored parity to the game.

Paintsil came up with another moment of magic again in the 64th minute as he set up what will prove to be the winner by teeing up teammate Daniel Munoz to score the Genk’s third on the night.

Genk held on to win 3-2 and extend their lead at the top of the Belgian Premier League.
