Accra Lions boosted their hopes of survival with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bibiani Goldstars.

In a battle between two premier league newbies, both sides knew very this was an opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and the relegation-threatened clubs in the fight for survival.

Lions emerged the better of the two sides as Daniel Awuni’s 61st strike proved to be the difference between both sides.

Goldstars huffed and puffed in their bid to secure an equalizer but Accra Lions held firm for a priceless three points.

The results sees Lions claim the 12th position on the league moving to 27 points whilst Goldstars remain in 14th with 26 points, four ahead of the drop zone.
