Akonnor started the qualifications before he was replaced by Milovan Rajevac in November last year.
In an interview with Joy FM after the match, coach Addo credited the two coaches for their work.
“This was only two games. There was a lot of work which was done before. For Milo Rajevac, for CK Akunnor, we are all in this together,” Addo said
Thomas Partey gave Ghana an early lead on the 10th minute before Troost-Ekong scored from the spot to restore parity at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The Black Stars will be making a return at the Mundial after missing out in 2018.
