Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu has finally made his debut for Ghana in their 2022 World Cup playoff win against Nigeria.

The 24-year-old replaced Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu after the break with Ghana drawing 1-1 with Nigeria in the crucial playoff at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Owusu who was born in France was impressive on the day helping Ghana to secure a ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Although, he was born in France and has represented the European country at youth levels, Owusu is now a full Ghana international after making his debut.

Ghana sealed their qualification to the Mundial on away goal rule after a scoreless draw in Kumasi.
