Widespread local media reports are suggesting, the National Sports Authority raked in 1.4 million Ghana cedis from gate proceeds in the game involving Ghana and Nigeria.
The Baba Yara Stadium hosted the blockbuster showdown between the two African powerhouses last Friday.
The Stadium was filled to rafters with several other thousands packed outside as they were unable to find seats in the stands.
The National Sports Authority announced an e-ticketing platform 4 days to kickoff of the big game; an initiative which was being tried for the first time in this country.
Patronage of the platform was reported to be excellent in the early days of its introduction and with few hours to kickoff, the NSA announced tickets had sold out for the Jollof Derby.
The revenue, 1.4 million Cedis, made from last Friday’s game is the highest figure ever recorded for a Sports event in the country.
