President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to be in attendance at the Moshood Abiola Stadium to watch the Super Eagles take on the Black Stars in the second leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff.
Nigeria’s Sports Minister Sunday Dare confirmed the latest development to the media ahead of the crunch encounter on Tuesday.
“I was in Lagos yesterday (Tuesday) and the president (Muhammadu Buhari) ask me why was I not in Ghana and I realised that the president also knows that there is a Ghana match.
“He has not given me 100 per cent assurance but he is likely going to show up here (second leg) on the 29th as a surprise.”
Ghana and Nigeria played out a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg at the Baba Yara Spots stadium in Kumasi.
The reverse fixture which will be played at the Mashood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday will determine which team will represent the continent at the global showpiece in Qatar.
Ghana are aiming for a fourth appearance after missing the 2018 edition in Russia, while Nigeria are hoping to qualify for a seventh.
