Nigeria defender Troost-Ekong has urged his teammates to be prolific in front of goal in the second leg of the World Cup playoffs.
Ghana and Nigeria played out to a goalless draw in the first leg of the World Cup playoffs and it’s all to play for in the second leg which will take place in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Nigerians boasted of several attacking talents going into the game but neither of them was able to crack open the Black Stars defense.
Addressing the media after the game, defender Troost-Ekong charged his teammates to be clinical when they next face the Black Stars.
“We must be clinical and against a good team like Ghana, you might get two or three good chances and you have to score otherwise you can’t win a game against them.” William Troost-Ekong said.
“We’ve learnt from today and we will try to exploit the defense in a different way.” – He added.
The winner of this two-legged playoff will seal one of the five tickets available to Africa for this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
