Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan made his debut for Black Stars in their scoreless draw with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final play-off games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The 19-year old was handed a starting berth by Otto Addo and the young star went on to impress on the day.
Gyan showed glimpses of his brilliance making things difficult for Ekong and Balagoun at back.
It was unfortunate he couldn’t continue the crunchy fixture between the two West African nations after sustaining an injury on the 80th minute which got him being replaced by Daniel Kofi Kyereh..
He is expected to be fit for the second leg in Nigeria on Tuesday.
Afena-Gyan has scored two goals in his 16 game outings for AS Roma in all competitions this season.
