Former Asante Kotoko striker Dauda Mohammed is set to be handed a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of this month’s FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff with Nigeria.
Dauda who has been in good form in recent weeks is set to be drafted in as a late replacement for the injured Antoine Selorm Semenyo.
Semenyo hobbled off after just 6 minutes for Bristol City during their league game on Saturday.
Mo Dauda will then become a beneficiary of this development per reports and join the Lack Stars squad in his place.
The on-loan Anderlecht attacker has been involved in 9 goals so far for Cartagena in the Spanish La Liga 2. He has netted 4 in his last 5 appearances for his side and this great form seems to have convinced the national team handlers of his qualities as a short term fix with Semenyo absent.
If confirmed, Dauda will join the squad latest by Monday to begin preparations for the first leg in Kumasi on Friday March 25.
