President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has called on the Black Maidens ahead of the Senegal tie.
The President was in the company of Executive Council Member and Black Maidens Management Committee Chairman Nana Sarfo Oduro and Black Stars Technical Advisor Chris Hughton.
‘’I am very happy to be here to show my support. I remember when we met in Prampram, I asked of you to make our nation great and strong, very dedicated towards the course and listen to your coaches’’ he said.
‘’I introduced this phrase to you and left this phrase with you. Ever since I left, you have continued to put in the right level of efforts in your attempt and desire to make our dear country great and strong.
‘’In that attempt, you played your first game in Senegal and won. Yes we did win but if we don’t keep our focus and realized the job is accomplished only after two round of games, we would make a big mistake.
‘’That’s why it’s important we take today’s game with all seriousness. We have had the best of preparations and I believe we are ready to make our nation great and strong. You have the full support of the people of our dear country and my support and may the almighty help you to make our nation great and strong’’ President Simeon-Okraku added.
Black Stars Technical Advisor Chris Hugton wished the team the very best of luck on Sunday.
‘’It’s a pleasure for me to see you. At a young age, football was my passion and was lucky to have a long career to play professional football so I understand where you are now, the passion you have to play. I want to wish you the very best today and am sure you will give everything’’ he said.
The Black Maidens will host the Young Teranga Lionesses at the Accra Sports stadium at 3pm.
