The CAF inspection team is expected to conduct a final assessment of the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday ahead of next week Friday’s World Cup playoff between Ghana and Nigeria.
The Baba Yara Stadium was granted a one-match approval to host the first leg of Ghana’s World Cup playoffs after the Cape-Coast was deemed unfit to host the said game.
Although the Baba Yara stadium was granted the approval to host the Ghana-Nigeria tie, CAF handed out some 8-conditions that needed to be met ahead of the game scheduled for Friday, 25th March 2022.
CAF’s Inspection Team is expected to visit the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday to ascertain whether or not the conditions have been met.
National Sports Authority PRO, Mr. Charles Amofa told FMIG his team is working assiduously to get the stadium ready before Monday’s inspection.
“I can assure Ghanaians that all the things that [CAF] asked of us to do have been worked on and the stadium will be ready for next week’s game. We’re expecting the CAF Inspection team here [Baba Yara Stadium] on Monday and I’m certain everything will be ready before they arrive.” – Mr. Amofa told FMIG.
