Skipper for the Black Stars of Ghana, Andre Ayew is set to join his teammates in Ghana as they prepare for the crucial encounter with Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs.
The Black Stars host Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers later this month but will be without their skipper who is suspended for the game.
Andre Ayew was handed a red card in Ghana’s last game in the 2021 AFCON against Comoros, making him ineligible to play in the country’s next two competitive games.
The game against Nigeria in Ghana will be the first of the two before he completes the ban when Ghana play in Nigeria days later.
But despite the suspension, the player is expected to be in the country to serve as a cheerleader for the team ahead of the crucial encounter.
Ayew’s leadership qualities have never been in doubt and his presence in the camp could serve as a huge boost for the players.
The Black Stars host Nigeria on 25th March, 2022 before playing the return encounter in Nigeria four days later.
