Ghana’s legendary striker Asamoah Gyan could not relent as he showed massive support to the President of the Ghana Football Association during the final funeral rites of his late dad George Offei Simeon-Okraku.
Kurt Okraku, the Ghana FA Boss has been a in a state of melancholy and pain following the death of his father about two months ago at 96.
Gyan who showed up during the one week observation of the death of Mr. Offei showed up again during the main funeral held at the Officers Mess so the 37 Military Hospital.
After the burial of the late Offei at the Military Cemetery in Accra, hundreds of people showed up to share their condolences with Kurt and the entire Okraku Family.
Among the top dignitaries who graced the occasion was the former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan.
He was in the company of his Local Manager Samuel Anim Addo.
Gyan’s Legendary status has never been in doubt as he remains the only African player with the highest number of goals (6) at the FIFA World Cup.
He also holds the record of the highest scoring player for Ghana with 51 goals in over 90 appearances.
Gyan recently joined Legon Cities FC and is expected to join a new Ghana Premier League club following his contract expiration.
The former Sunderland forward spent hours with the bereaved family before donating an undisclosed amount to support the funeral.
Kurt Okraku’s dad George Offei Simeon-Okraku Alias ‘Decide’ passed on Sunday, November 21, 2021 after a short illness.
The final funeral rites was held at the Officers Mess – Opposite the 37 Military Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2022.
The event drew well-wishers from within and outside Ghana.
There were offerings of tributory remarks and condolences to Kurt Okraku and family during this solemn occasion.
