Former Berekum Chelsea manager Hans van der Pluijm reckons the Ghana Premier League (GPL) currently lack quality players.
According to the Dutch trainer, the country’s top flight division has been on a decline in recent years.
He also argued that the Ghana Premier League does not have enough elite talents that can play for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
“I believe we all have to recognize that the quality has gone down, partly due to the weather which made it difficult for the players to prepare, but I don’t think the Ghana Premier League has enough elite talents for the Black Stars,” he told Vision 1 FM.
Pluijm has vast knowledge about Ghana football having coached Ashgold, then Gold fields twice in 1998 to 2001 and 2004 to 2005.
The 71 year old also had stint with Hearts of Lions, Kesben FC, Feyenoord Academy, Berekum Chelsea and SC Medeama.
