Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad has apologized to fans following his unsporting displays in the game against Elmina Sharks on Monday.
Kotoko lost to Sharks by 2-1 at the Nduom Sports Stadium in their matchday 16 fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League and the game was blighted by controversy which saw the league leaders finish the game with 10-men.
Elmina Sharks were awarded a penalty which was saved by Ibrahim Danlad, however, the assistant referee flagged for the penalty to be retaken after Danlad was adjudged to have moved off the line before the kick.
The African U-20 then rushed to the referee and was seen vehemently protesting the decision of the linesman – an act that has drawn condemnation from several followers of the game.
Danlad in a post via his Twitter account has apologized for letting his temper get the better of him.
