Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has disclosed the place of accommodation for the Black Stars at the AFCON 2021 was one of the many problems that hampered the team’s success at the tournament.
The Black Stars were given their hotel by CAF and were supposed to stay for their first two games before moving out to Garoua for their final group game.
Speaking on the team’s poor performance at the AFCON Mr. Asante Twum, noted the noise from the night birthed complaints from some of the players.
“Black Stars lodged in a hotel with a night club and sometimes, you could hear the noise. CAF provided the hotel for us.” – Mr. Asante Twum told Starr FM.
“You move out at your own cost. Some players spoke about the hotel, not complain,” he added.
Ghana were knocked out from the group stages after failing to win a single game in Cameroon, their worst ever performance at AFCON.
