Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has revealed talks are ongoing with Borussia Dortmund Assistant Coach Otto Addo to take over the Black Stars coaching job despite reports suggesting Chris Hughton is next in line for the vacant role.
Widespread local media reports suggest Chris Hughton will be the next Black Stars Coach following meetings with the Sports Ministry and other government officials.
Contrary to those reports, Mr. Asante Twum has stated emphatically the Ghana Football Association is at the moment considering Otto Addo as a stop-gap coach with an eye on the crucial World Cup Playoffs.
“I have not heard the Sports Minister anywhere says he want Chris Houghton so as it stands we are going with Otto Addo. We are yet to have a meeting with the Sports Ministry on our choice of coach,” he said on Starr FM.
Serbian gaffer Milovan Rajevac was sacked from his role as Black Stars Coach after an abysmal performance by the team at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
