Accra Lions recorded a hard earned win over Medeama SC on Match Day 16 of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports stadium on Saturday.
Hamidu Fatawu’s solitary strike in the first half was enough to hand the new boys their fifth win of the ongoing campaign.
The midfielder scored an exquisite free kick in the 32nd minute to keep their survival hopes alive.
The victory ensures Accra Lions move from the relegation zone to 12th position on the league table after 16 matches with 19 points.
The Accra-based club will travel to Kumasi to take on Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in their last game of the first round of the 2021-22 season in Ghana’s top-flight league while Medeama host Dreams FC in Tarkwa.
