The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has credited the reestablishment of the U-15 boys and girls project as the basis for the Black Satellites’ success in 2021.
The Black Satellites of Ghana secured their 4th AFCON trophy following a 2-0 win over Uganda of March last year.
Accra Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Barnieh was the hero as he scored twice in the game to crown the efforts of the U-20 side.
The AFCON triumph was a follow up of the the success that the same side achieved in December 2020 as they won the WAFU Zone B tournament.
Speaking in an exclusive interview from Doha to reflect on the 2021 Ghana football calendar year, the President of the Football Association, credited the decision of the executive committee to set up the U-15 system.
“I will start from the bold decision by the executive committee to set up our national U-15 boys and girls team”, he said.
“For me that was a bold step because it is very important for us to have a clear pathway for the development of our intangible assets, which are the players.
“So we brought our national U-15 boys and girls back and for me that gladdens my heart and I’m sure it is the same for many on the executive committee.”
