Karela United this afternoon secured a crucial win at home in game 11 of the Ghana Premier League season in a thrilling game at home to Eleven Wonders.
The hosts were winless in their last three games and were in need of all three points to avoid a further drop down the league table.
The afternoon’s task was made more challenging with Eleven Wonders also seeking the maximum points to keep themselves.
But after 90 minutes of thrilling action, it was Karela who came out on top with a 4-2 victory.
Samuel Atta Kumi opened the scoring for the home side as early as the third minute before Richard Berko doubled the lead with just three minutes left to be played in the first half.
Berko then netted his second on the day and the third for Karela at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park.
The visitors pulled a goal back but that was short-lived after Umar Basiru scored the spot kick after Richard Berko had been brought down.
The goals did not cease after that, with Abass Ganiu scoring in the 81st minute to make it 4-2.
