Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu was sent in Southampton’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur FC on Tuesday.
The centre back was giving his marching orders on the 39th minute after bringing down Heung-Min Son inside the box.
It was his second yellow card of the game after receiving his first caution on the 27th minute.
English forward Harry Kane converted nicely from the resulting penalty to draw Spurs level.
James Ward-Prowse gave the host the lead on the 25th minute with a beautiful strike.
The red card is the first time the former Valladollid defender has been sent off in his professional career.
Mohammed salisu has featured in 18 games for the Saints this season.
