Former GFA Vice President, George Afriyie has called on Ghanaians to throw their weight behind the Black Stars ahead of the next year’s AFCON.
The Black Stars will head into the 2021 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations with the sole aim of ending the country’s 40-year wait for an AFCON trophy.
Head Coach Milovan Rajevac has selected his provisional 30-man squad that will begin preparations for next year’s tournament.
Former GFA Veep, George Afriyie has already deemed Milovan’s provisional squad as the perfect unit for the AFCON Campaign and has called on Ghanaians to support the team fully as it is the only they will be able to achieve the ultimate.
“I support this call-up and we all need to come on board and support the team ahead of the Afcon because Milovan has presented us a perfect squad,” he added.
The Black Stars will begin camping today, December 22, 2021, in Doha, Qatar for 17-days in preparation for the Cup of Nations which kicks off on Sunday, January 09, 2022.
The Black Stars during the camping period are expected to play three friendly matches amongst which includes a game against reigning champions Algeria while in Qatar.
Ghana are housed in Group C alongside Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros and will begin their AFCON campaign with a game against Morocco.
