Hearts of Oak’s frustrating start to the new season continued with another uninspiring performance away to WAFA SC on Friday.
The Premier League Champions were held to a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.
After a cagey opening exchanges, the visitors struck on the stroke of half time, taking the lead through Kofi Kordzi.
The 45th minute strike was his 9th goal in 27 leagues appearances for the Phobians and the first goal of the season for Samuel Boadu’s men.
After the recess, Sampson Agyepong restored parity for the host on the hour mark.
The youngster registered his 4th premier league goal in 29 league games for WAFA.
Both teams continued to push for the winning goal until the game eventually petered out to a 1-1 draw.
Hearts and WAFA have both failed to win in their opening two games of the season.
The result also means that WAFA extend their unbeaten home record against the Accra-based giants.
In their last seven outings at Sogakope, Hearts have not managed a single win (D -3, L-4), scoring three and conceding thirteen in the process.
