Ghanaian defender Richard Afful has signed for Iraqi top-flight side Al Karkh FC, FMIG can exclusively confirm.

The defender who can also play as a defensive midfielder joins the club on a free transfer after leaving Egyptian side Al Zarqa FC.

Afful is gifted with a high technical ability, great strength, graceful personality and nurtured leadership skills.

He has already featured in one game for the club since completing his move in October.

The defender after leaving Ghanaian lower tier side Great Mpuasuman joined Suez Club in Egypt.

He also had a stint with Nuba FC in Egypt before joining Al Zarqa Club.

Richard Afful started his football journey at Golden Stars FC in Ghana before joining another lower tier side Vita Club.

Al Karkh are currently 16th on the Iraqi Super League standings with four points after seven games.
