Despite his move to Hearts of Oak being impregnated with controversy, veteran midfielder Gladson Awako has been named in the final squad for the Phobians for the current season, footballmadeinghana.com can exclusively reveal.
The midfielder whose performance with Great Olympics last season caught fire found city rivals Hearts of Oak come calling after the season.
After completing the move to the Phobians, Awako refused to commence training with the Accra club citing spiritual issues as his reason for not training with the giants.
The Phobians, nevertheless, included him in their squad for the CAF Champions League campaign but that did not compel the controversial midfielder to commence training with them.
The former U20 World Cup winner has still not started training with the Phobians but the defending champions have included his name in their final squad submitted to the GFA.
It’s, however, unclear when Awako will be starting training with the Phobians but his inclusion in the squad for the Premier League is expected to lure him to the training grounds of the Rainbow Family.
