Dreams FC open their 2021-22 Ghana Premier League campaign with a clash against Asante Kotoko on Saturday.
Dreams have to do the game at the Accra Sports Stadium as their original home venue was declared not ready yet to host this encounter by the Ghana Football Association’s Club Licensing Board.
The home side approach this game hoping to get revenge for their double defeat to Asante Kotoko last season. They have not beaten the visitors since 2018 and will be eager to do it in this encounter.
Habib Mohammed will relish the opportunity to face his former side and cost them points after the defender joined Dreams during the transfer window when he was released by Kotoko.
On the part of the away side, they enter the new season with new hopes. The Porcupine Warriors have recruited former WAFA Coach Prosper Narteh-Ogum who has pruned the initial squad list and gone ahead to add new faces to improve the playing body.
With new captain Abdul Ismail Ganiyu leading the charge from the back, eyes are keenly watching how this new dawns brightens the season for Kotoko as they attempt to wrestle the GPL title from bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
The game kicks off at 3pm GMT and will be refereed by Selorm Yao Bless. He will be assisted by Isaac Nyamekye and Pascal Mawusi with Essoh Doh Morrison acing as the 4th referee.
