Hearts of Oak Communication Director, Kwame Opare Addo is calling on supporters of the club to rally behind the club ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup campaign.
Hearts of Oak dropped to the CAF Confederations Cup following a heavy defeat at the hands of Wydad Athletic Club last Sunday as the Phobians lost 6-2 on aggregate in the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
Hearts will now focus on their Confederations Cup campaign as the Phobians seek to make the group stages of the competition.
Hearts have been drawn with Algerian side JS Saoura in the playoffs and will host the Algerians in Ghana for the first leg before travelling to Algeria for the second leg.
Ahead of their Confederations Cup campaign, Opare Addo stated the competition presents another opportunity to excel in Africa and called on supporters to get behind the team as they bid to make the group stages.
“We have another opportunity to make ourselves very proud and that is the Confederation Cup,”
“We lost in the champions league level but the confederations also presents another opportunity so we must let Hearts of Oak count, we must remain united and let the supporters continue to stand firm behind the team.”
