The referee to emerge as the best arbitrator in the Ghana Premier League next season will get a car, the Ghana Football Association has announced.
The move is seen as one to encourage top officiating in the upcoming league season and was announced by the GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku during the official launch of the 2021-22 Ghana Football season.
“For the GPL, the best referee for the year will take home a car at the end of the season. I am very sure that our referees will be happy,” Kurt Okraku said.
“The whole idea is to encourage our referees to be competitive and deliver top notch performances over the course of the season,” he added.
The new Ghana Premier League season commences on Friday October 29, 2021.
In a related development, the Ghana Football Association has already inked a deal with ZAZ Produkte, a German sports clothing company as the official referee kit sponsor for a period of three football seasons.
