Medeama SC held their traditional club awards on Friday evening, which was attended by players – coaching staff and management.
The maiden edition of the club’s end of the season awards was held at the Luxury Touch Hotel in Tarkwa and was hosted by the club’s head of communication Patrick Akoto.
Player of the season
Rashid Nortey won the biggest award on the day which is the club’s player of the season beating of competition from Richard Boadu and Fatawu Sulemana to win the award.
The midfielder also took home the best midfielder of the season award following his exploit for the club in the 2020/2021 season.
Rashid Nortey featured in 31 League games for the club scoring two goals in the process.
The midfield maestro earned his debut Ghana call-up in May 2021 following his impressive form for the Tarkwa-based side.
Defender of the season
Young defender Baba Musah Abdullai scooped the defender of the season following an impressive outing for the club.
He beat off competition from from Ibrahim Yaro and Fatawu Sulemana to win the award.
Best forward
Returnee Prince Opoku Agyemang won the best forward award after scoring 11 goals in 1 games for the club in both the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
He won the award ahead of Amed Toure and Tetteh Zutah.
Discovery of the year
Youngster Ebenezer Achkabi was voted as the discovery of the year .
He made 31 appearances scoring 1 goal in the process.
Goal of the season
Tetteh Zutah’s strike against Eleven Wonders was voted as the club’s goal of the season.
Fans player of the season
Richard Boadu was voted fans player of the season due to his impressive performance for the team following the injury of Justice Blay.
Boadu despite leaving the club to join Asante Kotoko scooped the award ahead of his competitors.
