Division One League side Tema Youth have confirmed their goalkeeper and captain Christian Addai has undergone a successful surgery to correct his broken leg.
The shot stopper suffered a career-threatening injury in the Division One Super Cup game against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Madina AstroTurf last Friday.
Addai collided with Andrews Baidoo of Gold Stars in the 84th minute, breaking his leg in the process and had to be rushed to the hospital.
On Wednesday, the Tema-based club confirmed the player has undergone a surgery and will be out for months.
“We’re glad to bring to the notice of the general public and the sporting fraternity that our Captain Christian Addai has successfully undergone a surgery on his broken leg. Thank you all for your fervent prayers and support,” wrote on their club on Twitter handle
Tema Youth despite the absence of their goalkeeper have booked their ticket to the final of the Super Cup where they will face Skyy FC on Saturday.
