Some board members Asante Kotoko board of directors have expressed their disgust over the club’s management decision to offload eight players ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Asante Kotoko earlier this week announce decision to release eight senior players declaring them as surplus to requirements by the new technical team of club led by Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Deputy skipper of the club Emmanuel Gyamfi lead the names of the players declared surplus requirements.
Others were Kwame Adom Frimpong, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Abdul Latif Anabila, Samuel Frimpong, Ibrahim Osman, Godfred Asiamah and Habib Mohammed.
But in a latest development, according a report filed by Kumasi-based radio station Silver FM, majority of the board members of the club have kicked against the management decision to offload eight players including the deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi.
According to the report, majority of the board are not happy with the decision to release some of the players and are demanding explanation from the management.
The club have already lost their skipper Felix Annan, Augustine Okrah, Martin Antwi, Richard Senanu and Wahab Adams left the club following the expiration of their respective contracts.
Meanwhile the Porcupine Warriors have already signed eight players namely Clinton Opoku, Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Samuel Boateng, Isaac Oppong, Richard Boadu, Augustine Agyapong and Samuel Appiah.
