Ghana midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has come a move to Cypriot giants Olympiakos Nicosia in the ongoing transfer window.
Waksu joins the side as free agent after ending his spell with Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes.
He joins the Green Blacks for the 2021/22 season after ending his stay in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with Vitoria Clube.
“Olympiakos Nicosia announces the beginning of its cooperation with the 29-year-old international Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso,” announced Olympiakos Nicosia.
“Wakaso started his football career at Portimonense in 2010 with which he played until 2013 in the first and second division of Portugal, recording 69 appearances and 3 goals. In 2013 he is acquired by Rio Ave, with which until January 2017 he records 114 participations (8 participations in the Europa League) scoring 2 goals and 2 assists.
“During this four-year period he played for a six-month loan spell at Portimonense (15 appearances and 2 goals) while in January 2017 he played in the first division of France with the colors of Lorient, recording 15 appearances. In the summer of 2017 he returned to the Portuguese championship where until last season he played in Vitória Guimarães SC recording 66 appearances and 2 goals (5 appearances in the Europa League).
He joins his compatriot Kingsley Sarfo at the Cypriot club.
