Former Ghana international Yaw Preko has advised the Black Stars to not panic and strive to stay in the game when they come up against South Africa on Monday.
The Bafana Bafana host the Black Stars at the FNB Stadium today in a FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier.
Ghana clinched top spot after the first round of games following a narrow victory over Ethiopia while South Africa could only draw away at Zimbabwe.
The results of the first games play to Ghana’s advantage according to Yaw Preko who has advised the Black Stars not to rush to prove a point in the game with the South Africans.
In his view, the Black Stars should relax and make efforts to let the game get out of sights against a determined South Africa side.
Yaw Preko believes the pressure on South Africa would suit Ghana’s game plan and envisages a positive result at the end of the match.
“They should just be in the game, no need to panic. No matter what. The pressure on the South Africans is huge. Their coach earns a lot of money,” Yaw Preko told Asempa FM.
“A draw is not good for them but for us a draw is good. Let’s just be in the game, manage the game and we will get a good scoreline in the game,” he added.
The natch kicks off at 4pm GMT and will be live on GTV Sports+
