Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu was in stunning form at the back for Southampton as they held Manchester United to a draw at home in the English Premier League.
The 22 year old played full throttle as ‘The Saints’ hosted the ‘The Red Devils’ at the Saint Mary’s on Sunday.
The young center back was ready to avert any danger as he put in blocks and made several timely interceptions to thwart an offensively talented United side.
His display, just as solid as it was, brought calm to a Southampton defence that has often been panicky and leaky.
His performance helped secure a vital point for Southampton, their first of the campaign following their ope ong day defeat.
This campaign is set to be a big one for Salisu who will be expected to step up and become the leader at the back following the departure of Jan Vestergard to Leicester City.
Despite having a delightful career start in Europe (Spain and now England), Salisu is yet to play for Ghana.
