Head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, C. K Akonnor has indicated that he is under no pressure to break Black Stars’ curse at the African Cup of Nations.
The Senior national team are still on the hunt for their 5th trophy after falling short on several attempts.
Since the triumph in 1982 which saw Ghana win the competition for a fourth time in Libya, the team has failed to win it again.
They have lost in a number of finals including the painful ones of 2010 and 2015, and they are now determined to break that curse.
The Sports ministry have made the goal clear on winning the competition and the head coach has also agreed to tag along.
Speaking at a news conference, C. K admitted that he is eager to win for the Black Stars and is under no pressure to deliver.
The Black Stars are set to begin their campaign at the 2021 AFCON against Morocco in January before playing Gabon and debutants Comoros for a place in the round of 16 of the competition.
Even before that the team will be involved in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers next month.
