The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr Patrick Motsepe has urged the Ghanaian and other African governments to make serious investment in football to help grow the game.
According to the Head of the Continent’s football governing body, financially investing into African Football is the only way the sport can grow to rival other continents.
Dr. Patrick Motsepe revealed this during the group stage draw fo the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Tuesday.
He said “African Governments need to contribute or make more money available to develop football. Because when we invest in football, we invest in our people and we invest in the future of Africa.
In his address to the gathered audience during the ceremony, the CAF President highlighted some positives chalked following his election into office earlier this year.
He also touched on what needs to be done to raise the standard of football on the continent and expressed the hope that an African Country will eventually win the FIFA World Cup.
